Board Members

Adrian Raethel - Chairperson

Adrian is the President of the North NSW Conference of Seventh-day Adventists where he is also Chairperson for the Schools and Church Company Boards. Adrian has worked in pastoral ministry for 17 years, youth ministry for 12 years and for 8 years worked in administration at the Greater Sydney Conference prior to his appointment at North NSW Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Adrian holds a BA Theology, MA Theology (Youth Ministry) and a Graduate Diploma in Leadership and Management and has been a Director of Seventh-day Adventist Aged Care (NNSW) Ltd since October 2019

David Knight – Chief Executive Officer

David has been Chief Executive Officer for ASL (NNSW) Ltd since January 2007. David has held a number of senior roles within NSW Health prior to moving into Aged Care. David has a Master’s of Business Administration, is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Graduate of their Company Director program. David has been a Director of Seventh-day Adventist Aged Care (NNSW) Ltd since January 2007

Jayce Fagan

Jayce is an RN and holds a Bachelor of Health Science as well as a Masters of Business Management (Health Services Management). Jayce has extensive experience in health care both nationally and internationally as an RN, nurse educator as well as in management roles including most recently managing Clinical Pathology Collection services for NSW Health. Jayce’s community activities include; founding Director of Beam of Love Creche in South Africa, Cofounding member of Community Aid Abroad, spent time as a missionary is Lesotho and Egypt, Member of the Central Queensland Multicultural Association Management Committee and has been a member of the Aust Care Committee for Refugee Week. Jayce has been a Director of Seventh-day Adventist Aged Care (NNSW) Ltd since October 2019.

Alan Harris

Alan has had over 35 years’ experience within the acute health, private hospital, day surgery and aged care sectors. A Senior Healthcare Consultant since 2001, he has expertise with quality management, facility management, process improvement, change management and project management. He has supported facility owners and senior management on improving systems, practices and outcomes within the health care sector. Alan is a Registered Nurse and also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. A project manager since 2009, Alan has been working closely with the Sydney Adventist Hospital (SAH) executive, stakeholders, engineers, consultants, project managers and architects to refine the SAH Master and Detail Planning and more importantly help to transition the planning efforts into an active building program. Alan has been a Director of Seventh-day Adventist Aged Care (NNSW) Ltd since March 2011

Abel Iorgulescu

Abel is the General Secretary of the North NSW Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and currently takes on the role of Chairperson of the Board for Seventh-day Adventist Aged Care (NNSW) Ltd. Abel has been a Director of Seventh-day Adventist Aged Care (NNSW) Ltd since October 2019.

Russell Halliday

Russell has held senior roles in finance and information technology within the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Australia and overseas over the past 36 years. Russell is a fellow of CPA Australia, holds a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Management and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Russell’s current role is Chief Financial Officer for the North NSW Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Russell has been a Director of Seventh-day Adventist Aged Care (NNSW) Ltd since November 2005.

Warrick Long

Warrick holds a PhD from Avondale University College, and also holds a Master of Arts (Leadership and Management), a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance, and has completed the AICD Company Directors Course. His initial study was a Bachelor of Business with a Major in Accounting. His professional affiliations include being a Fellow of CPA Australia, a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders ANZ, and a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia. Warrick currently holds a position at Avondale University College as a Lecturer in the Avondale Business School and is the Coordinator of Postgraduate Leadership programs. Prior to being an academic, Warrick held positions as Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary, Human Resources Manager and was a Director for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in WA and Aged Care (WA) Ltd. Previous to this Warrick was the NZ Pacific Union Secretary Treasurer for the SDA Church which included CFO, Company Secretary and Human Resource Manager. This role also included being a member of the Board of SDA Aged Care in NNZ, and overseeing the financial and governance operations of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in New Caledonia, Cook Islands and French Polynesia. Warrick has been a Director of Seventh-day Adventist Aged Care (NNSW) Ltd since June 2016.

Ross Penman

Ross is a Registered Nurse and holds a Masters in Nursing (Admin). He has over 30 years’ experience in Critical Care, Acute Care and health management. He has held a number of senior nursing and hospital management positions both in Australia and overseas. Currently Ross is the Director of Medical and Surgical Nursing, and Deputy Nursing Executive Officer for Sydney Adventist Hospital. His role requires expertise with all levels of staff, quality and resource management. Ross has been a Director of Seventh-day Adventist Aged Care (NNSW) Ltd since August 2013.

Brenton Race

Brenton has worked in a number of leadership roles in the software industry and in volunteer organisations such as the local Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Adventist Students Association. He is currently the Head of Engineering at Blueshift, a software development company. His role involves strategy, project delivery, technical oversight and staff management. He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Newcastle University. Brenton has been a Director of Seventh-day Adventist Aged Care (NNSW) Ltd since October 2019.

Robert Lynn

Robert has held a number of Directorships including Owner/Director of Moredun Creek Grazing Company and Seventh-day Adventist Aged Care NNSW) Ltd. Robert was the owner/manager for nearly 20 years of his own home improvement business employing up to 8 staff at any one time. Robert has been a past member of the Executive Committee for the Seventh-day Adventist Church Conference in NNSW and has broad experience dealing with a cross section of day to day issues in administration, finance and employment related matters. Robert has been a Director of Seventh-day Adventist Aged Care (NNSW) Ltd since February 2004
