On 5 June, Adventist Senior Living (ASL)’s Board Directors, General Managers and resident Jim Williams came together for a pivotal Strategic Planning Day, hosted by Bruce Bailey of Pride Aged Living. The event marked a significant milestone in ASL’s ongoing commitment to excellence in aged care and forward-thinking leadership.

The day commenced with a heartfelt devotional led by ASL Board Chair and Conference President, Cristian Copaceanu. In a moving reflection, Pastor Cristian shared the story of his grandmother’s conversion to the Adventist faith and the profound impact her spiritual legacy has had on his family. His message set a thoughtful and inspiring tone for the day’s discussions.

Bruce Bailey guided the group through a deep dive into ASL’s core purpose, revisiting the organisation’s vision and mission. This session provided a meaningful reminder of why ASL exists and the values that continue to drive its work in aged care.

A key focus of the day was a comprehensive review of the 2022–2025 Strategic Plan. Participants evaluated the progress made on each strategic element, identifying achievements and areas for further development. Bruce also shared insights into current trends shaping the aged care sector in Australia, offering valuable context for future planning.

The collaborative spirit of the day was evident as all attendees contributed ideas and feedback to the draft 2025–2028 Strategic Plan. This inclusive approach ensured that a wide range of perspectives were considered, laying a strong foundation for ASL’s next chapter.

The Strategic Planning Day concluded on a high note, with a shared sense of accomplishment and optimism. With clear direction and renewed purpose, ASL is well-positioned to continue delivering compassionate, high-quality care to its communities
