Despite the rainy weather, our community came together for a successful and uplifting R U OK? Day event. Residents, students from Avondale University, and representatives from Avondale Community Counselling joined us for a morning of conversation, connection, and reflection.

The program included sharing personal stories of resilience and a creative “Speed Friendship” activity, where students from the Spiritual Perspectives on Emotional Disorders course paired with residents. This activity encouraged meaningful introductions and conversations, helping participants to get to know one another in a fun and engaging way.

The event highlighted the importance of asking the simple yet powerful question: “R U OK?”. Taking the time to check in with those around us can make a real difference in building stronger, more supportive communities.

We extend our thanks to our social workers, Amanda and Karlee, for their excellent work in organising and leading this event. Their dedication ensured the day was both impactful and memorable for all involved.
